In addition to private shows and events, North Sound Soul has been a featured performer at numerous festivals and venues including Downtown Sounds in Bellingham, Ski-to-Sea Festival, April Brews Day, Birch Bay Rollback Days, Boundary Bay Brewery, Boulevard Park Summer Concert Series, Blues, Brews & BBQ, La Conner July 4th and the Anacortes Waterfront Festival, to name a few.

Their material will take you on a journey from early soul standards by Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Sam & Dave thru 70's funk cuts by Aretha Franklin, Al Green and Stevie Wonder culminating in the classic horn-focused tracks by Chicago and Tower of Power.


The Unknowns bring their award-winning, harmony-driven sound with a show that blends soul, funk, jazz, blues, and pop into something both timeless and fresh. Named Best New Group by HUGS Radio WRGG and boasting two number-one hits on their Top 100 chart, the band has built an international following through dynamic performances and magnetic stage presence. They toured Europe in 2024 and have played at many festivals and venues in Washington, Idaho, Pennsylvania and Montreal.

Formed in 2018, the group features three vocalists —Kim Bowman (keyboards), Caitlin Bowel (tenor guitar), and Allison Bowman (ukulele) — alongside Melanie Sehman (drums) and Sarah Yates (upright bass). Drawing inspiration from Lake Street Dive, The Good Lovelies, Peggy Lee, and Imelda May, The Unknowns combine tight three-part harmony with playful charm.
